Pl: gatunek jaszczurki z rodziny waranowatych, za czasów panowania ludzi największa jaszczurka na świecie. Zamieszkuje endemicznie Indonezję, gdzie żyje ich 45 tysięcy osobników. Osiąga od 2,5 do 3 metrów długości i waży od 79 do 90 kg. Znana jest z tego że poluje na zwierzęta większe od niej samej, a to wszystko dzięki toksynie zawartej w jej ślinie. Samice są mniejsze od samców. Na nowej ziemi ewoluował w 5 nowych gatunków: Warana chińskiego, Warana indyjskiego, Warana australijskiego, Gourmanda wielkiego i Gourmanda leśnego.
